Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Suspended deputy chief of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Bambang Widjojanto has filed another pretrial suit at the South Jakarta district court.

"We filed it at the South Jakarta District Court this morning," Bahrain, Widjojantos lawyer, said in a short text message on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday (May 20), Widjojanto withdrew his pretrial suit challenging the move of the National Polices Criminal Investigation Directorate (Bareskrim) to name him as a suspect in an election dispute case.

Bahrain added that the pretrial suit has the same content as the previous one.

In the suit, the lawyer included Attorney General M. Prasetyo, National Police Chief General Bahroddin Haiti and Bareskrim Chief Commissioner General Budi Waseso as defendants

He further noted that there were several underlying factors in the pretrial suit, including a decision of the Advocate Supervisory Commission of the Indonesian Advocates Association concluding that there was no violation of code of ethics.

Therefore, the report that Bambang Widjojanto violated the code of ethics is unacceptable.

Another underlying factor is a recommendation of the Indonesian ombudsman that there was maladministration in Widjojantos arrest.

Furthermore, the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) claimed it has enough preliminary evidence to show there was human rights violation in the arrest of Widjojanto.

Moreover, the Attorney Generals Office (AGO) said on Monday, May 25, that the dossier on the suspended KPK deputy chief was completed.

Head of the Law Information Center of the AGO Tony Tribagus Spontana stated that police investigators will later hand over the suspect to the public prosecutor.

On January 23, the National Police named Widjojanto as a suspect in an election dispute case. He is accused of prompting witnesses to give false testimony during a Constitutional Court session on an election dispute concerning Kotawaringin Barat, Central Kalimantan, when he was a lawyer.(*)
