Singapore (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Judo Team will jubilantly return home on Tuesday after emerging as the overall champions in the Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) by winning four gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in Singapore.

"The team will go home relaxed, as its achievement during the three-day competition is very satisfying. Our dream has come true after waiting for 20 years to become the overall champions in the SEAG," Indonesian Judo Team Manager Zaedun stated here on Tuesday.

The four gold medals were won by Ahmad Raharjo in the 66-kilogram category, Ni Kadek Anny Pandini in the 56-kilogram category, Gerrard George in the 86-kilogram category, and Horas Manurung in the 90-kilogram category.

The judo team of the SEAG 2015 is the first contingent in the games to have surpassed its gold medal target. Indonesia had set a target for the judo team to win three gold medals, but Manurung and fellow team members were able to grab four gold, one silver, and two bronze medals.

According to plan, the team will fly back to Indonesia after participating in the competition for three days in Hall 2 of the Singapore Expo.

Members of the team will first congregate in Jakarta before departing for their respective home towns.

"Their time, energy, and thoughts finally yielded positive results. However, this momentum should not stop here, as we have to prepare to face other competitions, including the Olympic Games," Zaedun emphasized.

Meanwhile, gold medalist in the 90-kilogram category Manurung expressed happiness on winning the gold medal, which he had lost in SEAG 2013 in Myanmar.

"I am happy to have won the gold medal, which helped the team to emerge as the overall champions. Apart from surpassing the target, my friends and I are determined to give the best we can," Manurung, who is a West Java judo player, noted.
