Tehran (ANTARA News) - Iran confirmed the death of two of its nationals in the Fridays bomb attack at a Shiite mosque in Kuwait, official IRNA news agency reported.

"Unfortunately, two Iranians residing in Kuwait were martyred in the Fridays terrorist attack" on Kuwaits Imam Sadeq mosque, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham told IRNA.

Afkham condemned the attack, saying that the regional states should jointly deal with the terrorism of extremist groups.

At least 27 people were killed and more than 200 others wounded in the blast when a large number of Shiite Muslims were doing midday prayers inside the mosque on Friday (June 26).

The Islamic State (IS) militant group claimed responsibility for the attack.
