Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia has strongly condemned the Israeli military’s ongoing aggression across the Gaza Strip, including the siege of the Indonesian Hospital in North Gaza.

"Israel's attacks on civilian facilities constitute grave violations of international laws, international humanitarian laws, and human rights," Indonesia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated on X on Tuesday.

Indonesia urged the UN Security Council and the international community "to take decisive action to uphold international law and end Israel’s atrocities."

Indonesia also stressed the urgent need for a permanent ceasefire and immediate access for humanitarian aid, which is critical for the survival of Gaza’s population.

According to the Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C), a humanitarian organization, the Indonesian Hospital has sustained extensive damage due to ongoing Israeli attacks. It is reportedly the last operational medical facility in North Gaza.

“The hospital’s condition is alarming. Windows shattered and ceilings collapsed, seriously disrupting essential medical services in the ICU, emergency unit, and operating rooms,” MER-C said in a press release issued Sunday.

The organization reported that bombs dropped near the hospital caused tremors comparable to an earthquake, further weakening the facility’s structure.

“Some medical equipment was destroyed by debris falling from the shocks,” MER-C added.

Citing Al Jazeera, Russian news agency Sputnik reported that at least 55 people remained trapped inside the Indonesian Hospital as of Monday local time.
