Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development is awaiting directions from the Indonesian Health Ministry on COVID-19 measures, such as restrictions, amid a rise in infections in several countries.
"We are waiting for directions from the Health Ministry," the ministry's special staff for communication and public information, Herzaky Mahendra Putra, said on Wednesday.
At present, there is no detailed information regarding the development of cases. However, the public has been asked to remain vigilant, considering the increase in cases.
Putra said the current COVID-19 situation is similar to that of other diseases, however, it should not be underestimated. He then appealed to the public to exercise greater vigilance.
Separately, acting director general of disease control at the Health Ministry, Murti Utami, said that in light of the COVID-19 uptick in several Asian regions, such as Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore, domestic stakeholders and health units must carry out several efforts.

They must monitor global developments and information related to COVID-19 cases through official government and WHO channels.
They must step up early warning by monitoring and verifying trends in ILI/SARI/pneumonia/COVID-19 cases via routine reporting through the Early Warning and Response System (SKDR).
They must also promote a healthy lifestyle and build COVID-19 protocol awareness, such as following a clean and healthy lifestyle, washing hands with running water, and using soap or hand sanitizer.
Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin on Tuesday acknowledged an increase in the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Indonesia.
On Wednesday, his ministry announced it is preparing health facilities to anticipate a potential COVID-19 increase after the detection of seven new cases in the 22nd week of this year.
Head of the ministry's public communication and information bureau, Aji Muhawarman, informed that the highest positivity rate in 2025 was recorded during the 19th week at 3.62 percent.
