Jakarta (ANTARA) - An Indonesian delegation comprising several ministers and governors attended a meeting and luncheon hosted by Saudi Arabian Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman (MBS) at Mina Palace, Saudi Arabia, on Saturday (June 7).
This delegation included Coordinating Minister for Community Empowerment Muhaimin Iskandar, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar, South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, and East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa, according to a statement from the South Sulawesi provincial government cited here on Sunday.
During the event, Governor Sulaiman had the honor of shaking hands with Crown Prince MBS. He also expressed gratitude to the Saudi Arabian government for inviting him to attend the gathering, which coincided with the peak of the 2025 Hajj season and the Eid al-Adha celebrations.
East Java Governor Parawansa shared similar sentiments, expressing her joy at being able to participate in this year’s Hajj pilgrimage as well as the high-level gathering, which was held on behalf of Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.

She described the event as a platform for "fostering unity, peace, and the protection of humanitarian values."
Meanwhile, in his opening speech, Crown Prince MBS extended Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri greetings and prayed that the Hajj pilgrimage of all invited guests would be accepted by God Almighty.
The Saudi head of government also expressed his appreciation to the heads of state, senior officials, and prominent Islamic leaders who accepted his invitation to the gathering.
“We hope that God Almighty will bless our countries, all Muslim nations, and the entire world with lasting security and stability,” he said.
Notable international attendees included President of Mauritania Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Maldives Mohamed Muizzu, Vice President of Benin Mariam Chabi Talata Zime Yerima, Syrian Waqf Minister Muhammad Abu al-Khair Syukri, former Somali president Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, and Grand Mufti of Jerusalem Muhammad bin Ahmad Hussein.
