Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Domestic Policy Strategy Agency (BSKDN) of the Home Affairs Ministry is fostering a culture of emergency response by organizing a blood drive as part of the BSKDN Health Festival.

In a statement received in Jakarta, Saturday, BSKDN Head Yusharto Huntoyungo stated that the blood drive held on Friday carries greater significance than simply being a social activity.

Huntoyungo explained that the event is part of efforts to build collective awareness, so that both the public and civil servants (ASN) are better prepared to respond to various emergencies.

"This is not just a blood drive but also an educational initiative to build collective awareness about the culture of sharing and handling emergencies. We need skills that enable us to handle emergencies," he remarked.

Huntoyungo believes that a culture of emergency response should be present not only in government institutions but also in everyday life.

Therefore, he encouraged similar activities to be held regularly and combined with training in basic emergency skills, such as first aid and self-evacuation.

Furthermore, Huntoyungo sees the blood drive as a way to strengthen humanitarian values that provide direct benefits to society, both for donors and recipients.

He noted that many people require blood, such as accident victims and patients with chronic conditions, making every drop of blood donated highly meaningful.

"We expressed our appreciation and gratitude, especially to the prospective donors who have agreed to donate their blood for humanitarian purposes," he remarked.
