Labuan Bajo, NTT (ANTARA) - Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), erupted again on Wednesday afternoon, with an ash column from the eruption reaching approximately 200 meters above the summit, or 1,784 meters above sea level.

According to a report issued by the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) stated that the eruption occurred at 2.05 p.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA).

Furthermore, the ash column was observed to be white, gray, and brown in color with a thin to moderate intensity, moving toward the southwest and west.

Wednesday's eruption was recorded on a seismogram with a maximum amplitude of 44.4 mm and a duration of approximately 1 minute and 42 seconds.

Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki's status is currently at Level III, or Standby.

The public and visitors are advised to refrain from any activities within a six-kilometer radius of the eruption center.

The public is also reminded to remain calm, follow the directions of the local government, and avoid believing unverified information.

The PVMBG also warned of the risk of rain-induced lava floods in rivers originating from the summit of Mount Lewotobi Laki-laki during heavy rains, particularly in the villages of Dulipali, Padang Pasir, Nobo, Nurabelen, Klatanlo, Hokeng Jaya, Boru, and Nawakote.
