Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Creative Economy stated that the utilization of artificial intelligence (AI) and technology is helping micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to expand their market reach.
Creative Economy Minister Teuku Riefky Harsya said in a statement here on Saturday that technology adoption, including AI, is a strategic step in creating a resilient, innovative, and adaptive creative economy ecosystem.
"AI is not merely about technology, but also how we introduce new tools for creative economy players to enhance their creativity, efficiency, and product competitiveness. With digital proficiency, MSMEs are expected to penetrate wider markets without losing the identity of Indonesian creations," he said.
The ministry's Director of New Digital Technology, Dandy Yudha Feryawan, added that AI can serve as a practical tool to enhance the capacity of creative economy talents, but creativity and originality of business actors remain the main focus.

Regarding this, the Ministry provided training on the use of AI through the KreasiAI event for MSME players in Depok City, West Java.
“We hope that through KreasiAI, creative economy actors in Depok City will become more prepared and competitive in adopting AI technology, so that the creative economy can continue to be the new engine of growth for Indonesia,” Feryawan said.
The training participants were creative economy actors from the culinary, craft, and fashion sub-sectors, with a training session that included mentoring and demonstrations from local AI startups.
More than 90 percent of MSMEs in Indonesia have yet to optimize the use of AI, according to the ministry. Through KreasiAI, participants were taught how to create product photos and promotional videos, develop branding strategies, and understand the four-step originality test to avoid copyright infringement.
