Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has instructed his ministers to expedite the implementation of all government programs, emphasizing the need to eliminate bureaucratic bottlenecks, according to Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan.

Hasan conveyed the directive following a limited cabinet meeting with President Prabowo and several other ministers at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.

In the food sector, Hasan stated that the government is prioritizing two key agendas: optimizing productive agricultural land and developing new rice fields. These efforts include projects in Wanam Village, Papua; South Sumatra; and Central Kalimantan.

“In Wanam, the road has already been built, and the port is nearly complete. We will finalize the spatial planning soon,” he said.

He also noted that the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries plans to establish fishponds spanning a total of 20,000 hectares this year.

Beyond food-related initiatives, Hasan said the government will accelerate the Red and White Village Cooperatives program and the Red and White Fishing Villages program, with a target of reaching 100 villages this year.

President Prabowo launched approximately 80,000 Red and White Village cooperatives last July. These cooperatives are envisioned as hubs for economic and social services in rural communities, offering savings, loans, and healthcare clinics, among other services.

Meanwhile, the Red and White Fishing Villages program aims to enhance the productivity and welfare of coastal communities. A total of 1,100 fishing villages are slated for revitalization in phases.

Under this initiative, the government will construct key infrastructure, including piers, cold storage facilities, and training centers.
