Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Senior comedian Mamiek Prakoso who began his career with Srimulat comedian group, died at Brayat Minulya Hospital in Solo, Central Java, on Sunday afternoon.
A short tax message received by ANTARA News on Sunday afternoon reported that the comedian died of an illness at the age of 53 at the hospital.
Mamiek Prakoso was born in Salatiga, Central Java, on April 6, 1961. He started his career as a comedian with the Srimulat comedian group.
He is the older brother of singer Didi Kempot. No immediate information on the illness he was suffering from that caused his death.
He is also known as "Mamiek Kepondang" because the characteristic since in Srimulat his hair are colored white on the edge like a bird "kepondang" (black-naped oriole or Passeriformes sp.).
