Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) is keen that his government should accelerate the bureaucratic reform process on the management of civil services.

To this end, the president held a limited cabinet meeting on Friday.

"In this first limited cabinet meeting, we want to expedite the bureaucratic reform process," the president stated while opening the meeting.

The meeting was held to discuss a draft government regulation on the management of civil services.

According to Jokowi, the government needs to take immediate decisions to reform the bureaucracy.

"Therefore, we need a responsive bureaucracy to provide services in accordance with developments," he noted.

President Jokowi urged State Administrative and Bureaucratic Reforms Minister (Menpan/RB) Yuddy Chrisnandi to file a report on the management of civil services.

The president also plans to continue the limited meeting to discuss the membership of the Free Trade Zone and Free Port areas of Batam.

The meeting will also discuss the preparations for organizing an exhibition on flowers, fruits, interiors, and food items at the Presidential Office.(*)
