Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Former president Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie was discharged from the Army Hospital in Jakarta where he was under treatment since last Friday.

"Thank you for your prayers and attention while Mr. Habibie was being treated at the hospital. Thank God, Mr Habibie has been allowed by a team of doctors to return home," the Habibie Center said in a post on its Facebook account on Wednesday.

The Center said the former president must take a lot of rest to fully recover from his illness.

Habibie was admitted to the hospital last Friday because of deteriorating health.

A team of presidential doctors suggested that the former research and technology minister be treated at the Army Hospital to receive antibiotics following bacterial infection, it said.(*)
