Bandar Lampung (ANTARA News) - The Russian government has invited Lampung Province to participate in the Moscow International Exhibition Travel & Tourism 2017 as a mark of gratitude to the administration for preserving traditional cultures in the global era.

The invitation was conveyed when Lampung Governor M. Ridho Ficardo met Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Mikhail Galuzin in Jakarta on Monday (June 6), according to a press statement from the Lampung provincial administration received by ANTARA News here on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the governor shed light on Lampungs potentials in the context of socio-cultural aspects, local wisdom, arts, and handicrafts.

According to the governor, Lampungs cultures are so diverse that they serve as a bond to unite the local people.

"People practice mutual assistance and respect and continue to maintain unity and integrity. Moreover, Lampung is the gateway to Sumatra, so it is a very strategic location to carry out industrial development," Governor Ridho noted.

The governor also highlighted Lampungs several tourist destinations to the ambassador and invited the people to visit the province.

"Lampung is well-known for Luwak coffee. It is produced through a natural fermentation process, and hence, has a distinct flavor," the governor remarked.

Agriculture, plantation, fishery, industry, and tourism are some of Lampungs potential areas for investment.
