Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Pakistani weightlifter Talib Talha led the men`s 62-kg class event in Group B of the Asian Games 2018 on Tuesday.

Talha lifted a total of 287 kg, comprising 133 kg in the snatch and 154 kg in the clean and jerk.

He achieved success in all lifting attempts. In the first three attempts, he successfully lifted 127 kg, 131 kg, and 133 kg in the snatch.

The Pakistani weightlifter achieved more success in the clean and jerk event, where he successfully lifted 148 kg, 152 kg, and 154 kg.

Japanese weightlifter Takao Hiroaki finished second in Group B,

lifting a total weight of 277 kg, with 122 kg in the snatch and 152 kg in the clean and jerk.

The third place went to Thai weightlifter Bupphamala Patiphan, who lifted a total of 260 kg, comprising 120 kg in the snatch and 140 kg in the clean and jerk.

In Group B, Sri Lankan weightlifter Thilanka and Saudi weightlifter Almazyadi were disqualified after they failed three times to lift the barbell in the snatch.

The winner will be announced only after the weightlifting competitions in Group A end, which will bring together eight weightlifters, including Eko Yuli Irawan and Muhamad Purkon of Indonesia.
