Palembang, S Sumatra (ANTARA News) - Chinese Taipei`s rowing team won a gold medal in men`s 1000-meter canoe Traditional Boat Race (TBR) at the 18th Asian Games here on Monday.

It performed superbly, defeating the host team that had set a target of winning the medal.

The Chinese Taipei team won the gold medal through Tuan Yenyu, Lin Shengru, Lin Minhao, Ho Chialin, Chuang Yingchieh, Chou Enping, Chou Chhwei, Chien Chengyen, ChenChou Yuenhung, Chen Yuan, Chen Tzu Hsien, and Chang Shenghuang.

The Indonesian team, which had to be satisfied with a silver medal, consisted of Saputra Dedi, Rustandi MY, Mulyana Andri Agus, Poliyansyah P, Monim Erwin David, Marjuki, Firmansyah Yuda, Arpan, Mehue Stubet Spens, Juana Medi, Faturahman MF, and Akbar Rio.

The bronze medal was awarded to a Korean team powered by Kim Pu Song, Kim Jin Il, Jon Chung Hyok, Choe Kiyong Uk, Lee Hyeon Joo, Yeom Hee Tae, Park Cheol Min, An Hyun Jin, Shin Dong Jin, Kim Yong Gil, Jung Hoonseok, and Shin Srong Woo.
