Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Pertamina EP, a subsidiary of state energy company PT Pertamina produced oil and gas averaging 260,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOPD) overshooting its target of 256,700 BOEPD in the first nine months of the year.

"In the third quarter of this year its crude oil production averaged 82,735 barrel per day and its gas production averaged 1,030 million standard cubic feet per day (MMMSCFD)," President Director of PT Pertamina EP, Nanang Abdul Manaf said here on Wednesday.

Nanang said its oil production came mainly from the Sukowati field in the district of Bojonegoro, East Java. The oil field is under the coordination and management of Pertamina EP Asset 4.

Its gas production came mainly from the Pendopo field in the district of Pali, South Sumatra under Pertamina EP Asset 2.

"We are increasing production through drilling and optimization of the existing facilities," Nanang said.

He said there is still much potential that could be developed to increase production by the company as it has 5 assets and 22 fields.

"We are confident the production could still be increased to contribute to the country`s energy security," he said.

He said the production of the company has recorded a rising trend since early 2018.
