Manado, N Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) representative in North Sulawesi`s city of Manado has consistently disseminated information on the dangers of illicit drugs to local students in the city.

"We visit schools and join the flag ceremonies every Monday to disseminate information and education on illicit drugs," Head of BNN Representative in Manado Senior Adjunct Police Commissioner Eliasar Sopacoly stated here on Monday.

Sopacoly has routinely visited students at one of the public high schools in Manado every Monday for BNN`s information dissemination activities. He expressed hope that the educational information by BNN would be able to help students gain a better understanding of the dangers of illicit drugs.

"Hopefully, the information provided by BNN would serve as a reminder to students to not consume illicit drugs," Sopacoly stated.

He further noted that educational information on the dangers of illicit drugs was disseminated in cooperation between BNN and Manado`s Department of Education to prevent illicit drug use among local students.

Sopacoly also expressed hope that BNN`s activity would strengthen commitment between students and teachers to prevent illicit drug use in schools in the city of Manado to make them "illicit drug-free zones."

"Illicit drugs must not enter schools and must not ever be used by students, so they can be successful generation that can make the country proud and have positive impacts on their families," he remarked.
