"There is a selection process in the ministry to determine the position," President Jokowi remarked after handing over the 2020 budget execution list (DIPA) in the State Palace in Jakarta, Thursday.
The president expressed belief that Ahok has the opportunity to lead one of the SOEs.
"We know Ahok's performance. The selection process is still ongoing," he remarked while responding to the chances of Ahok leading a major SOE, such as Pertamina.
Jokowi also stated that the potential position remains open for Ahok to fill in, including in the commissioner or director’s board.
Speaking in connection with his status as politician, Jokowi told reporters to direct their queries to SOEs Minister Erick Thohir.
