Through the thematic real work lectures (KKN), university students could take part in expediting the realization of Village SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals).
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration Minister Abdul Halim Iskandar, through a statement on Monday, urged university students to collaborate in expediting village development across Indonesia.

"Through thematic real work lectures (KKN), university students could take part in expediting the realization of Village SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)," he noted.

According to Iskandar, with the thematic KKN activity, university students could take part in expediting the realization of 18 Village SDGs.

"We have told village supervisors across Indonesia to provide sufficient space for everyone that have the commitment to build villages, including KKN students," he noted at an event held by the Indonesian Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNUSIA).

Since the start of 2021, villages have updated the Village SDGs-based data. Through this data, KKN participants could easily identify problems encountered by local villagers, he noted.

Thus, KKN participants could become a part of solving the problem by collaborating with villagers and village apparatus.

He expects that KKN students' collaboration with village supervisors, village apparatus, and villagers can help in conducting a village problem map analysis based on the Village SDGs.

Thus, a link can be drawn between the real problems that villagers encounter and the utilization of village fund.

"Once you arrive in villages, start by delving into the Village SDGs-based data where you could see what the problems are," the minister stated.

Meanwhile, UNUSIA's rector, Juri Ardiantor, emphasized the readiness of his side in building collaboration to expedite village development.

Despite the short duration of KKN and limited resources, Ardiantor said his side will leave no stone unturned to truly provide benefits to villages, he remarked.

"We express our gratitude to the minister for providing support to UNUSIA's KKN program, as villages are the spearheads of this nation's development," he affirmed.
