I also remind the management that (TMII) has become a new tourism destination after its revitalization
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno visited Beautiful Indonesia in Miniature Park (TMII) in East Jakarta to inspect the tourist attraction's facilities and readiness to welcome tourists during the year-end holiday period.

During the visit conducted on Tuesday (December 27), the minister noted that the inspection also aims to ensure the park is ready to host New Year's Eve celebrations.

"Because TMII will be the epicenter of New Year's Eve (celebrations) on December 31, some 60 thousand residents, expected to flock to the park, must have their safety, health, and security assured," Uno noted as per the statement received here, Wednesday.

The minister said that PT Taman Wisata Candi (PT TWC), as operator of the tourist attraction, should improve its efforts to disseminate information on the new online ticketing system and promotional offers to visitors.

The operator should also ensure better ticketing booth conditions and increase the number of electric vehicles at the park, he pointed out.

"I also remind the management that (TMII) has become a new tourism destination after its revitalization. I commend the site that has been made more pedestrian-friendly, and electric vehicles have been readied (at the park). New attractions will also make tourists feel safe, comfortable, and joyful," Uno remarked.

The minister called to empower TMII's 700 employees to improve services at the park in order to boost public confidence and promote pride to travel domestically.

Meanwhile, the minister also urged regional authorities -- who operate provincial pavilions at TMII -- to utilize pavilions to showcase and promote tourism in the respective provinces.

"I encourage regional authorities and provincial tourism offices to utilize TMII as the medium to promote tourism and investment intensively," he remarked.

A special security post has been established at TMII's gate 3 and expected to be active from December 23, 2022, to January 2, 2023. The TMII management also projected a surge in visitors on December 30-31, as the park will host various events to celebrate New Year's Eve.
