Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Austrian Embassy has called for greater cooperation with all stakeholders in Indonesia on the transfer of environmentally friendly technology.

"For us in the embassy, it is very good to see that we bring Austrian expertise, we bring Austrian knowledge here," the Austrian Ambassador to Indonesia, Thomas Loidl, remarked at the Lightwoodhub launch event here on Thursday.

He said that Austrian institutions and companies have tremendous expertise and know-how regarding environmental technology.

LightwoodHub, as an international competence center for ecological timber construction, is one example.

He said that there is a lot of interest in Indonesia in bringing green technology from Austria. This interest was conveyed by Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi.

"She is aware that in Austria, you have a lot of expertise when it comes to environmental technologies. She explicitly asked me to work with Indonesian institutions and companies," he said.

Therefore, he called for greater cooperation at the launch of the LightwoodHub center.

“The Austrian embassy, together with the representatives of the Commercial Chamber, we do what we can to support the next steps," he said.

In the meantime, Adam Themessl from the research and development section of LightwoodHub said that the center aims to bring together all value chain stakeholders, from farmers, smallholders, investors, architects, woodworkers, and engineers.

"All have to play together and to be in the same base of knowledge, more or less, on how sustainable timber building is and what kind of contribution it can give to mitigating climate change," he added.
