We will begin the trial at 300 km per hour
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan has invited legislators of the House of Representatives (DPR) to ride the Jakarta-Bandung Rapid Train during its test run in mid-June.

During a meeting with the House's Budget Agency here on Friday, the minister affirmed that on June 14 there would be a test trip of the train, in which the train would be tested at speeds up to 300 km per hour.

"Since Jakarta-Bandung Rapid Train is under my coordination, on the 14th of this month we will (test drive) at 300 km per hour. We will begin the trial at 300 km per hour. So if any of you would like to come along, because I will also try the 300km/h later, maybe on 15 or 16 (June), I allow it," he stated.

He explained that the normal speed for the train is set at 350km/h, which will allow the train to arrive in less than an hour.

Pandjaitan mentioned that the train stops at Padalarang, and they are preparing shuttles from there to continue the trip to Bandung.

The minister stated that there are no significant issues in the development of the rapid train project, and ensured that there would be none until its operation begins in August 2023.

"On negotiations, interest, and other things, everything is under control. We do everything in detail, with good teamwork. So do not create hoaxes about these among us," he said.

He also ensured that the rapid train operation will be integrated with the LRT in the Greater Jakarta Area, as well as TransJakarta, which will allow for easier travel for passengers who intend to go to Bandung using the rapid train.

"So this will be integrated, ladies and gentlemen. If (anyone) said that it is not integrated, it is not right. This will become mass LRT. So people come by LRT, stop (at the station), and then get onto the rapid train to Bandung. The same goes with the LRT," he explained.

He added that although initially there were issues involving Greater Jakarta Area's LRT, it has been followed up with calibration and maintenance, thus the operation would travel according to plans.
