Jakarta (ANTARA) - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas asked civil servants to simplify bureaucratic processes during a civil servant education activity in Tabanan district, Bali province.

According to a press release received in Jakarta on Friday, the minister said that a simple bureaucracy will help the government provide the finest services to the people.

"It is the duty of regional leaders to monitor how long it takes civil servants to complete the process of every public service offered," he told I Komang Gede Sanjaya, head of Tabanan district.

The fulfillment of this duty is crucial to ensure that public service procedures are not complicated and the public can immediately feel the impact, he added.

In addition to bureaucratic simplification, Minister Anas urged civil servants, especially those serving in regional governments, to take two important steps to provide impactful bureaucratic services for the people.

The minister stressed that first, regional governments need to carry out digital transformation by integrating existing digital applications into a single public service portal, rather than developing new applications.

The second step is related to the need for formulating public-oriented regional policies. Minister Anas stressed that regional governments must always side with their people, including by making policies that can benefit them.

Sanjaya, on his part, affirmed that his administration is committed to improving the quality of bureaucracy in Tabanan. He also extended his appreciation to Minister Anas for his comprehensive directives to civil servants, especially those serving in Tabanan district.

"Hopefully, the presence of Minister Azwar Anas here can motivate us, civil servants in Tabanan, to show the public that we are running a simple, effective, and efficient bureaucracy," he stated.
