Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah urges the Indonesian Entrepreneurs Association (APINDO) to continue cooperating with the government in efforts to create harmonious industrial relations.

"We would like to ask enterprises that are members of APINDO, including those in regions, to continue to collaborate with the government's industrial relation mediators and manpower supervisors," she noted in a statement on Tuesday.

During a meeting with APINDO's new management in Jakarta on Monday, Fauziyah urged them to work in synergy with the government to implement labor regulations aimed at creating harmonious industrial relations.

She also encouraged APINDO to appeal to its members to abide by Manpower Minister's Decree Number 88 of 2023, which outlines prevention and handling measures for sexual violence at workplaces.

"We appeal to APINDO to take an active role in encouraging the establishment of a task force that will work to prevent sexual violence in workplaces and provide care for its victims," she affirmed.

Furthermore, Fauziyah asked APINDO to actively participate in social dialogue forums, such as the meetings of the National Tripartite Cooperation Agency (LKS) and the National Wage Council (Depenas).

"Company representatives should attend and actively participate in every meeting of National LKS and Depenas by conveying ideas and suggestions regarding the world of labor," she pointed out.

She expressed hope that entrepreneurs would pay attention to the condition of laid-off workers.

"We believe that it is necessary to encourage enterprises that are currently enjoying a positive business trend to show their care and support for laid-off workers by taking them into consideration for reemployment," she noted.
