Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin, accompanied by Second Lady Wury Estu Handayani, is heading to Aceh Province to attend the inauguration ceremony of the province's Regional Islamic Economy and Finance Committee (KDEKS) on Thursday.

According to a written statement received here on Thursday, the vice president departed from the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta on Thursday morning at 9 a.m. (2:00 GMT) for the Sultan Iskandar Muda International Airport, Banda Aceh City, boarding the Air Force's Boeing 737-400 Presidential Aircraft.

Amin and his entourage will be welcomed by several figures, including Acting Aceh Governor Achmad Marzuki, Head of Aceh's Wali Nanggroe customary institution Tengku Malik Mahmud Al Haythar, Local Military Commander Major General Novi Helmy Prasetya, and Aceh Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Haydar.

From the Iskandar Muda Airport, the vice president will head to the Aceh Governor's meeting hall to witness the inauguration of Aceh's KDEKS by Taufik Hidayat, Acting Executive Director of the National Islamic Economy and Committee (KNEKS).

According to Aceh Governor's Decree No. 500/1293/2023 of July 17, 2023, regarding the establishment of KDEKS of Aceh, the regional committee will be inaugurated to forge coordination between the national committee and the Aceh Government to develop Islamic economy and finance in the province.

Amin and his entourage are scheduled to return to Iskandar Muda Airport to take a flight at 3:05 p.m. (8:05 a.m. GMT) to visit West Sumatra Province after participating in the KDEKS inauguration ceremony.

In Padang City, West Sumatra, on Friday (September 8), the vice president will officially open the Minangkabau Halal Festival at the State University of Padang before attending the World Islamic Entrepreneur Summit (WIES) 2023 High Level Dialogue at the Pangeran Beach Hotel.

During the working visit, the vice president and the second lady are accompanied by officials from the Vice Presidential Secretariat, including head of the secretariat Ahmad Erani Yustika.
