Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - The National Police (Polri) finalized security preparations for the 2023 Archipelagic and Island States (AIS) Summit Forum by holding a tactical floor game (TFG) at the Bali Regional Police building here on Friday.

Head of Traffic Corps of the National Police, Inspector General Firman Santyabudi, stated that the TFG operation is of utmost importance to strengthen the readiness of personnel involved in securing the 2023 AIS Summit Forum.

The forum, where archipelagic and island countries will engage to discuss and seek solutions for marine issues and climate change, will be held in Bali on October 10-11.

The AIS Summit Forum will carry the theme of "Fostering Collaboration, Enabling Innovation for Our Ocean and Our Future."

Through the TFG test, the police strives to formulate tactics and strategies that will be applied while securing the AIS Summit.

In addition, Santyabudi said, TFG was applied as a coordination tool in planning the operation, so that each personnel can gain an understanding of its role and function to succeed and support the running of the AIS Summit activities.

"This is a stage with procedures and mechanisms that must be conducted following the previous stage," he stated.

He expressed hope that in this activity, the members involved would detect aspects that were not predicted in order to anticipate them and be more prepared in the next preparation stage.

Bali Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Kade Putra Narendra, who was also present at the activity, stated that the TFG was part of the VIP and VVIP security preparations.

He remarked that the TFG aimed at preparing tactics during the dynamic situation while securing the movement of delegates of the 2023 AIS Summit.

According to data released by the Bali Police, some 32 countries, including Micronesia, Niue, Timor Leste, Tuvalu, Fiji, and Tonga, have, so far, confirmed their attendance at the forum.
