Jakarta (ANTARA) - The 2023 Esports Presidential Cup (PPE) will take place on October 21 and 22 at the Indoor Tennis Court in Senayan, Jakarta, and feature two local games.

Head of public relations and communication of the Indonesian Esports Central Board (PBESI), Debora Imanuella, here on Friday expressed her gratitude for the local games being included in the competition.

This year's PPE will carry the theme "Esports for the Country," she informed.

According to Imanuella, the inclusion of local games in a national-scale tournament is very important.

"With local games being competed in a national-scale tournament, Esports athletes and the community will be excited to play the games. Eventually, it will boost the Esports ecosystem development in the country," she explained.

In addition to the two local games, other game branches that will be competed in this year's PPE are Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and MLBB Women.

Chair of the event's organizing team, Rangga Danu Prasetyo, said that the event on October 21 and 22 will be the main event, following a series of qualifying rounds.

Four Indonesian professional Esports teams will compete in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang — AURA Fire, EVOS Legends, Rebellion Zion, and Pendekar Esports.

The four teams will compete in the semifinals on October 21. The two winning teams will advance to the grand final the next day.

Furthermore, the Mahadewa and OPI Admirals will compete against each other in the local game Lokapala, which is featuring in PPE for the third year.

Meanwhile, Yoking, UcupBaddman, Joddz, and Kayz will compete in the local game Battle of Guardians.
