Kabupaten Bandung (ANTARA) - A collision between a commuter line train and the Turangga train occurred in Bandung, West Java, Friday morning.

The public relations manager of Operational Area II of Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI), Ayep, confirmed the train collision occurred on the railway near Cicalengka Station of Bandung District at 06.03 am local time.

"The information about the train collision is true, and currently, we are evacuating both the train set and passengers," Ayep said.

The Directorate General of the Railway of Transportation Ministry stated it has sent a team to follow up and evacuate victims due to the collision.

"Our directorate general has sent a technical team to secure the incident's location," the Director General of Railway Risal Wasal said in a statement.

The Turangga Train (KA Plb 65A) and Bandung Raya Commuterline Train (KA 350) colliding in the Cicalengka-Haurpuguh lane section.
