Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is improving services, especially digital services, for people with disabilities through the "One Person with Disability, One Account" program to increase financial inclusion, an OJK official said on Friday.

Friderica Widyasari Dewi, OJK's Chief Executive for Financial Services Business Players Behaviors, Education, and Consumer Protection Supervision at OJK, said that the program is one of the authority's 10 strategic programs that are aimed at increasing the community's financial inclusion.

"We have 10 priority programs, for example, for women, MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises), and people with disabilities," she remarked at a ceremonial event for the signing of a cooperation pact between the OJK and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs here on Friday.

Dewi explained that for the implementation of the "One Person with Disability, One Account" program, the OJK has consulted with the National Commission for Disability (KND).

She said that during her meeting with the KND, she learned that having access to financial services is a precious asset for disabled people.

Apart from increasing financial inclusion, she assessed that strategic programs to improve the community's financial literacy also need to be increased.

To boost financial literacy, the OJK has prepared various initiatives, including the Financial Education Learning Management System (LMKSU) and the Sikapi Uangmu application, which include disability-friendly modules.

According to Dewi, the OJK conducted 2,570 financial education events, with the total number of participants reaching 647,968 in 2023. Additionally, financial services business players (PUJK) held 2,607 similar events, engaging 409,284 participants.

"We encourage PUJK to facilitate people with disabilities, not only by simplifying their visits to banks but also by supporting access to various financial products like insurance, bank products, and ATM cards," she remarked.

Dewi expressed hope that OJK's cooperation with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs as well as the Implementing Management of the Pre-Employment Card Program would support digital transformation to increase financial inclusion and literacy within the community.
