Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Nusantara Capital City Authority (OIKN) explored potential investors at the Hannover Messe event held on April 22-25, 2024, in Hannover City, Germany.

Secretary of the OIKN Achmad Jaka Santos Adiwijaya said in the agency's statement received here on Tuesday that apart from highlighting the progress in development and investment in IKN Nusantara at the event, his side also sought potential investors.

This was the second participation after last year's Hannover Messe event, he noted.

"In addition to following up on meetings with several potential investors at Hannover Messe last year, this time, we explored the potential for cooperation related to the appropriate technology for transportation and the environment," he elaborated.

Hannover Messe is one of the largest and most important trade and industry exhibitions in the world.

Hannover Messe 2024 carried the theme of "Energizing A Sustainable Industry" and involved various companies in the mechanical engineering, electrical, digital industry, and the energy sector.

At least four thousand exhibitors from 60 countries attended this year's Hannover Messe.

Hannover Messe 2024 offers an opportunity for OIKN to interact with investors prioritizing sustainable development.

"As we know, IKN has a concept of smart sustainable forest city where we are building a city by applying environmentally-friendly technology, and Hannover Messe, with the theme of energy transition, is the right moment for us to maximize opportunities for cooperation," Adiwijaya stated.

On the first day of the event, Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita opened the Indonesia Pavilion.

In his speech, Kartasasmita stated that Indonesia has a strong commitment to preserve the environment and achieve milestones in the new and renewable energy sector.
