Jakarta (ANTARA) - Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian on Monday highlighted the need for countries across the world to reaffirm their commitment to water security.

He made the remarks during a ministerial meeting organized as part of the 10th World Water Forum in Bali.

"I believe that we all have the same commitment and support for achieving water security and facing current and future challenges," he said in a statement released by his ministry.

He noted that intergovernmental collaboration is essential to mainstream integrated water resource management at all levels.

Karnavian also highlighted the need for maintaining the deep relationship between drinking water and human welfare.

He emphasized that access to clean and safe drinking water is not just a human right but the foundation of people's health, dignity, and welfare.

Karnavian then highlighted the need to secure inclusive and meaningful participation of all stakeholders, including those affected by challenges related to water, to advance the global water agenda.

He also urged countries to reaffirm their commitment to making clean drinking water accessible to everyone.

The 10th World Water Forum is being held in Bali until May 25.
