Bogor (ANTARA News) - An Indonesian hospital is going to be built in Gaza, Palestine, soon now that its sponsors have gone through various required licensing procedures, a spokesman said.

Medical Emergency Rescue Committee (MER-C) Indonesia presidium chairman Dr Sarbini Abdul Murad said here on Tuesday the construction of the hospital in Gaza would start later this month.

"The hospital will be very beneficial to the victims of war because it is specially designed for traumatized war victims who need immediate rehabilitation and treatment," Sarbini said.

He explained that with the capacity of 100 beds and spacious operation room, the hospital was expected to give health assistance and rehabilitation to war victims in Gaza Strip.

Sarbini said MER-C Indonesia was ready to sign a working contract with the local contractor in Gaza to start the construction of the Indonesian hospital there.

Seven Indonesian volunteers on duty in Gaza Strip are also making various preparations and coordination with various parties in Gaza concerning the signing of the hospital`s working contract.

A team of engineers from Jakarta will soon leave for Gaza for the similar purpose.

"Therefore we need prayer support from all Indonesian people for the smooth and immediate development of the Indonesian hospital in Gaza," Sarbini said.(*)
