Jakarta (ANTARA News) - PT Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ will raise gas supplies to state fertilizer maker PT Pupuk Kijang in Cikampek, West Java, by 54 trillion british thermal unit or 54 billion cubic feet starting January 1, 2012.

The additional gas supplies would originate from the APNE/F field, Offshore North West Java (ONWJ) block located in the western part of the Java Sea, Novitri Lilaksari, spokesperson of the state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina`s subsidiary, said here on Thursday.

She said the additional gas supplies would secure gas supplies to Pupuk Kujang 1A to 57 billion british thermal unit per day (BBTUD).

The agreement to raise the gas supplies came after both sides signed amendment to number two of ONJW gas sale purchase agreement between the two companies on Thursday.

The amendment to number two of the gas sales purchase agreement concerned the sales of additional gas originating from the APNE/F at the ONWJ block.

The planned allocation of gas from the field to the fertilizer plant had been approved by the Upstream Oil and Gas Executive Agency (BP Migas), she said.

The ONJW gas sales purchase agreement was for the first time signed on July 24, 2006, with gas supplied to Pupuk Kujang starting on February 12, 2008.

ONWJ Block covers an area of 8,300 square km stretching from the waters off Cirebon, West Java, to Seribu Islands off North Jakarta.

PT Pertamina Hulu Energi ONWJ is one of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE)`s subsidiaries. The company has taken over ONWJ Block from BP Indonesia since July 2009.
