Padang, W Sumatra (ANTARA News) - A cruise ship, Kaimana II caught fire at the pier of Bungus seaport, Teluk Kabung village, Padang city, at 11.30 a.m. on Thursday, but no fatalities were reported.

"Fire brigade office received information about the ship catching fire from a local resident," head of the city fire brigade office, Budi Erwanto said here on Thursday.

The fire caused the cruise ship`s owner, Ferry, to suffer billions of rupiah in losses, Budi said.

According to him, the fire brigade had difficulties extinguishing the fire due to the stock of diesel oil in the ship.
