"What should be done is to complete the investigation quickly and give credible explanation."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Vice President Boediono has called for a speedy but credible investigation into Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100) crash because the International community as well as Indonesia`s people want to know the cause of the accident.

"What should be done is to complete the investigation quickly and give credible explanation," Yopie Hidayat, a spokesman of the vice president, said quoting Boediono when receiving a Russian delegation here, Monday.

The delegation consists of Russian Ambassador to Indonesia Alexander Ivanov, Head of the Russian SSJ-100 Investigation Team Yuri Slyusar, and United Aircraft Corporation President Mikhail Pogosyan.

Boediono was accompanied by Deputy Transportation Minister Bambang Susantono during the meeting.

Given the extreme terrains of the crash scene, it will be difficult to predict the period of the investigation, Bambang said.

The focus now is on evacuation of crash victims, and later the plane`s wreckage.

Indonesia mourns the deaths of many Indonesians in the accident, but it will not affect the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Russia because the crash was purely an accident, according to Yopie.

He added that the Russian delegation thanked the Indonesian government for the cooperation in the evacuation and investigation processes.

Russia has sent three teams to respectively help the evacuation of dead victims and the plane`s wreckage, the identification process of victims` remains, and the investigation into the cause of the crash.

The three teams are under the coordination of the Indonesian authorities while working in Indonesia.

The vice president, however, did not give a deadline.

Boediono expressed his gratitude to Russia for providing technical assistance expected to help speed up the investigation.

SSJ1-100 was on a demonstration flight with 45 people on board including eight Russians and 34 Indonesians, when it hit Mount Salak`s cliff in Bogor District, West Java, on Wednesday afternoon.
