Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian currency rupiah lost part of its value in inter-bank trading on Friday against the US dollar on fear of Greece`s financial woes.

The currency weakened 10 points to the level of 9,495 per US dollar on Friday afternoon from 9,485 earlier.

"The Euro weakened triggered by widespread fear that Greek might not get relaxation in doing its bailout commitment," Monex Investindo Futures money market analyst Johanes Ginting said.

The rupiah weakening followed the euro trend, Johanes said here on Friday.

He said the threat that Greek may withdraw from the Euro zone also contributed to the rupiah weakening against the US dollar.

Meanwhile, Samuel Sekuritas analyst Lana Soelistianingsih said this week the European leaders will meet to discuss the European debt crisis.

"But the meeting is doubted to end with significant progress in seeking a panacea for the debt crisis, which has beset the EU since 2008," Lana said.

Greek might ask for relaxation in time but would not ask for additional debt, she said.

Today German Chancellor and French president are scheduled to meet with Greece prime minister to ensure that Greek would meet its obligation.

Despite doubt, rupiah would remain relatively stable against the US dollar, on speculation of the Fed might issue" third quantitative easing" next month, she added.
