Hipmi praised the government`s economic performance so far and hoped that the domestic climate atmosphere would continue to be positive.
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (Hipmi) here on Friday.

Hipmi praised the government`s economic performance so far and hoped that the domestic climate atmosphere would continue to be positive.

Hipmi general chairman Raja Sapta Oktohari made the statement at the presentation of the award.

He said in the past eight years Indonesia had been able to pass through a number of global economic crisis.

"Indonesia from 2004 and 2011 has been able to pass through regional as well as global crisis well. It has never stopped making economic achievements from 2004 to 2011," he said.

"We are all challenged to progress further. Economic improvement requires all parties` role. We believed this country is not running without a leader," he said.

Oktohari said national economic figures and data had all shown a good performance by the government raising confidence that the economy would continue to grow despite a number of regional and global economic problems.

He said the award was a form of appreciation from the young entrepreneurs to the government and the President in particular for having been able to maintain a positive economic climate in the country.

In response to the award presentation President Yudhoyono said the economic achievement felt by all people in the country now was the results of hard work by all parties in the past eight years and manifestation of performance of the government, businesses, economists and the whole community.(*)
