Someone has allegedly put the homemade bomb during a police personnel rollcall at the police precinct office.
Palu, C Sulawesi (ANTARA News) - A homemade bomb exploded in a traffic police checkpoint in the Central Sulawesi provincial town of Poso on Monday morning, causing a traffic police and a security man suffered injuries, police confirmed here on Monday.

The traffic police chief of Poso Police precinct, Adjunct Commissioner Abidin has confirmed about the homemade bomb explosion which occurred at 6.15 a.m. Central Indonesia Standard Time (WITA).

The local traffic police and one of bank BRI security men who suffered injuries were identified as Brigadier-I Rusliadi and Akbar respectively.

According to Adjunct Commissioner Abidin, Brigadier-I Rusliadi injured his hand due to the explosive fragments, while Akbar slightly wounded.

"The culprit seemingly knows well the situation when the police checkpoint is being vacant," Abidin explained.

The police checkpoint is located near the bank BRI, Poso regent housing complex and the Poso river bridge.

"This morning, all police personnel attended a rollcall, and when Brigadier-I Rusliadi entered the checkpoint, the bomb exploded," Abidin disclosed.

Meanwhile, the national police spokesman, Brig.Gen. Boy Rafli Amar said that the police had questioned several witnesses and chased the culprit of the accident.(*)
