Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian government has again opened an opportunity for the countrys younger generation to apply for scholarships to pursue university, master or doctorate degrees at home and abroad.

In a press statement received here on Sunday it said that the Indonesian President Scholarship Program launched since 2013 was part of its efforts to prepare the countrys younger generation, which will be the backbone of the nation, to contribute to the economic and other sectors after the countrys 100th anniversary.

"The principle of justice remains to be used as the main consideration for determining the recipients and so the less privileged will be given a priority. President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono believes future leaders must be prepared and actively developed in all fields," the Education Fund Management Institute (LPDP) said in its press release.

In the first round of selection a total of 100 applicants have passed including Raeni, the best graduate of state Semarang University in Central, who wished to pursue a master degree in London.
