Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The government will soon lower the price of subsidized diesel oil which currently stands at Rp6,400 a liter, a minister said.

The price of diesel oil may be lowered due to a decline in the stock cost of Rp300 per liter, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said said at a working meeting with Commission VII of the House of Representatives (DPR) here on Tuesday.

"So the price of diesel oil may decline," he said.

The drop in the price of diesel oil is also a recommendation from the House Commission VII.

At the meeting the Greater Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party faction wanted the government to set when exactly the price will be lowered and how much the price will be lowered.

Meanwhile, other factions in the DPR left the matter to the government to decide.(*)
