Mount Anak Krakatau emits smoke, as seen from Sebesi Island in South Lampung District, Lampung, Tuesday (Sept. 8, 2026). The Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation (PVMBG) reported that, based on observations from Sept. 7-8, Mount Anak Krakatau recorded two eruption earthquakes, four emission earthquakes, 76 low-frequency earthquakes, 100 hybrid/multiphase earthquakes, continuous tremors, eight shallow volcanic earthquakes, and nine deep volcanic earthquakes.
