Jakarta (ANTARA) - The development of artificial intelligence (AI) has created opportunities for digital economic growth, according to Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Nezar Patria.
He stated that AI is expected to contribute US$366 billion to Indonesia's GDP by 2030.
"This growth is driven by the marketing industry, gaming, and the education sector," he said at the Tech & Telco Summit 2025, which he joined virtually on Friday.
Patria noted that these three industries are the top contributors to increasing interest in AI technology, based on a survey and research conducted by Google in the Asian Economy 2024 report.
He added that 92 percent of intellectual workers in Indonesia already use generative AI technology in their workplaces.
Additionally, 69 percent of organizations and companies stated that they would only hire candidates proficient in AI technology.
"For this reason, the government continues to collaborate with technology companies to ensure the transfer of knowledge and technology in national AI development," he said.
Patria emphasized that such collaboration must remain a key focus in every partnership.
He also highlighted the importance of strengthening ties between Indonesia's AI ecosystem participants and global strategic partners.
