Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Cucun Ahmad Syamsurizal appealed to all Indonesian Hajj pilgrims to set aside social differences and maintain humility while performing Hajj pilgrimage in the holy land.

He emphasized that all pilgrims should deepen their prayers and self-introspection, as well as prepare themselves, both mentally and physically, to fulfill all aspects of the Hajj pilgrimage.

"Let us help each other, show tolerance, and put aside all social differences. What sets us apart before God is piety, not our status," Syamsurizal noted in a written statement received here on Friday.

As chairman of the Hajj Supervisory Team of the House, he stressed that the Hajj pilgrimage should uphold the values of humanity, professionalism, and quality service.

He also expressed appreciation for all parties involved in organizing the Hajj, including both Saudi authorities and Hajj officers from Indonesia.

As part of the supervisory team, he ensured that the House would continue to supervise and coordinate with various parties.

"Alhamdulillah, the officers are committed to ensuring that not a single Indonesian pilgrim is left behind in Mecca and all are ready to take part in the wukuf procession," he remarked.

He also expressed hope that this year's Hajj procession would serve as a momentum to develop better individuals, both individually and socially.

"The best human being is the one who benefits others the most. May our worship in Arafah lead us to happiness in this world and the hereafter," he remarked.
