Manado, North Sulawesi (ANTARA) - Population and Family Development Minister Wihaji, concurrently head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN), emphasized the need for multi-party collaboration to build strong and harmonious families in Indonesia.
"The government plays an important role in family development. However, the government cannot work alone. We need to improve multi-actor cooperation and commitment between the government, the community, and other stakeholders," Wihaji noted in his written remarks.
The statement was delivered by North Sulawesi Deputy Governor Victor Mailangkay during the 32nd National Family Day (Harganas) ceremony in Manado, North Sulawesi, on Friday.
The minister explained that enhancing cross-party collaboration aims to develop pro-family programs, increase the family development budget, and boost cooperation with other stakeholders.
Pro-family programs will help families improve their quality of life and welfare.
"We must educate families to have adaptive and responsive abilities to changes in the times," he remarked.
He noted that increasing the budget for family development will fund higher-quality pro-family programs.
Additionally, strengthening cooperation with stakeholders will help improve the effectiveness of pro-family programs.
"Let us make the family the main pillar in building a healthy, prosperous, and resilient society. From the family, we realize an advanced and just Indonesia," the minister added.
