Rantau, Kalsel (ANTARA) - Several of Tapin's signature products from South Kalimantan will be showcased at the China-ASEAN Expo 2025 in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang, China, this September.
Tapin Industry Office head Yustan Azidin said on Wednesday the products include Sasirangan fabric from Budi Mulya Village, Hiyung bird's eye chili, woven jangang caps, Hatungun coffee, and dalit handicrafts.
"This is an effort to introduce the region’s potential to the global market," he said.
Yustan noted that the expo is a golden opportunity to highlight Tapin's cultural heritage and flagship products on the international stage. He added that the district government supports local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) through training, marketing assistance, and improved access to resources.
The development and promotion of these products, he said, is a joint effort between local government and the private sector — a model of cooperation aimed at strengthening the regional economy.
"With continuous support and guidance, we hope Tapin's featured products can compete globally and bring pride to the region," Yustan said.
PT Bhumi Rantau Energi (BRE) President Director Tommy Isnutomo also voiced support for Tapin’s participation, inaugurating the Kube Sasirangan Mulya Production House for local artisans. BRE is a coal mining company operating in the district.
"Previously, Sasirangan fabrics were made in home yards. With this production house, artisans now have a proper workspace, which will improve quality ahead of the trip to China," Tommy said.
He added that Budi Mulya Village has strong potential in handicrafts, and the new facility will help artisans work more efficiently and with greater focus.
