Held in Jakarta, the trade mission showcased a wide range of South Kalimantan’s economic strengths, including processed fishery products, plantation commodities, minerals, timber products, and signature handicrafts, such as Sasirangan fabric.

A total of 11 curated high-potential micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from the region participated in the exhibition and business matching sessions during the trade mission.

Governor Muhidin reiterated the provincial government’s full support for the MSME sector, particularly through capacity building, access to financing, market expansion, promotional efforts, and investment facilitation.

He said that the South Kalimantan government is open to collaborating with trade partners and investors with a strong commitment to providing a business-friendly environment, supported by clear regulations and efficient procedures.

He also urged his administration to coordinate closely with all relevant stakeholders, especially the Ministry of Trade, in future international trade missions to ensure the market appeal of the products being promoted.

Meanwhile, director general of national export development at the Ministry of Trade, Fajarini Puntodewi, praised South Kalimantan’s commitment to supporting MSMEs through assistance programs and investment facilitation.

They promoted renewable energy solutions and sustainable goods from industries, such as building materials, home décor, fashion and accessories, food and beverages, and other sectors with high potential for the Japanese market.

Puntodewi added that the ministry also welcomed an economic mission from the Netherlands, which offered cooperation in agriculture, maritime, and clean water management.

She expressed optimism about facilitating future partnerships between the Netherlands and South Kalimantan.

The 2025 South Kalimantan International Trade Mission was also attended by representatives from the embassies of Russia and ASEAN countries, Kadin Indonesia, South Kalimantan provincial officials, and city and regency representatives from across the province.
