Wang arrived at the palace around 11:35 a.m. local time, accompanied by his delegation and escorted by motorcycle guards. Traditional dancers greeted him upon arrival.
He was received by Minister of State Secretariat Prasetyo Hadi, who escorted him to meet President Prabowo.
The President welcomed Wang in the palace veranda before leading him to the Credential Chamber for a photo session and the signing of the state guest book—an expression of what officials described as “harmonious ties” between Indonesia and China.
Prabowo also introduced several senior Indonesian officials, including Deputy Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir, People’s Consultative Assembly Speaker Ahmad Muzani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Prabowo and Wang then held a one-on-one meeting followed by a luncheon.
Wang arrived in Indonesia a day earlier and met with Speaker of the House of Representatives (DPR) Puan Maharani at the Parliamentary Complex.
During their meeting, Puan emphasized the strength of bilateral relations, especially in trade and investment.
“Indonesia and China have been close partners in many sectors, and our economic ties continue to grow rapidly,” she said.
She noted that bilateral trade reached US$147.8 billion in 2024, while Chinese investment totaled US$8.2 billion, making China Indonesia’s third‑largest foreign investor.
Puan also praised China’s active role in ASEAN and BRICS forums and said both countries share similar views on the need to “revitalize multilateralism” to address global challenges such as climate change and economic inequality.
