Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) is scheduled to conduct rehearsals in late September for the celebration of its 80th anniversary, set to take place at the National Monument (Monas), Central Jakarta, on October 5.
"We will begin training in the fourth week of September," Head of the TNI Information Office Brigadier General Freddy Ardianzah told ANTARA in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He noted that the celebrations would feature a parade of weapons and defense equipment, along with a combat simulation performed by around 100 thousand personnel from the Army (TNI AD), Navy (TNI AL), Air Force (TNI AU), and the Reserve Component (Komcad).
Ardianzah added that the military had been coordinating with the Jakarta provincial government to ensure that roads around Monas remain accessible to the public during the commemoration.
While the main event is scheduled for October, he highlighted that a series of activities has been taking place since August, including sports events and competitions held in various regions across Indonesia.
"We will also organize a TNI exhibition on September 21–22, 2025, offering health services, distributing staple goods, showcasing defense equipment, and hosting a bazaar for micro, small, and medium enterprises," he added.
Other events leading up to October 5 include weekend camping programs in schools and a sailing pass by TNI AL ships.
