Head of the TNI Information Office Brigadier General Freddy Ardianzah said the massive contingent will include soldiers from the Army (TNI AD), Navy (TNI AL), Air Force (TNI AU), and members of the TNI Reserve Component (Komcad).
“Our plan is to deploy TNI personnel as well as residents who are part of the Reserve Component, numbering around 100,000. This figure is not yet final and may change depending on field needs,” he stated in Jakarta on Tuesday.
He explained that the anniversary event will feature elite troops from each branch performing a combat simulation at Monas Square. Soldiers will also showcase TNI weapons and equipment, including fighter jets.
Ardianzah noted that technical preparations for the eight-decade commemoration are already underway.
“Our preparations have progressed to the stage of planning and coordinating, including discussions with the Jakarta government regarding the use of Monas Square,” he said.
While the main event is set for October, a series of activities has been running since August, including sports events across Indonesia.
“We will also organize a TNI exhibition on September 21–22, 2025, offering health services, distributing staple goods, displaying defense equipment, and hosting a bazaar for micro, small, and medium enterprises,” he added.
Other lead-up activities include school weekend camping programs and a sailing pass by TNI AL vessels.
